The Strong Motion Database (NOA-SMDB) of the Geodynamic Institute (GI), National Observatory of Athens (NOA) includes all the data concerning the permanent strong motion network of the Institute for the period 1973 - 1999, which have been published in three volumes (Stavrakakis et al., 1992; Kalogeras & Stavrakakis,1995, 1998).

The database is included in a CD-ROM, including the filesread_me_first.txt (a help file), info_data_processing.txt (including information about the strong motion data processing), netmap.bmp (a picture of the strong motion network of the G.I.) and epimap.bmp (a picture of the spatial distribution of the earthquakes recorded).

The database includes information about the stations, the earthquakes and the records. The uncorrected (raw data in graph and ASCII format) and the corrected (interpolation, baseline correction, filtering and intergration in graph and ASCII format) data are also included. The user has the opportunity to select records according to specific queries and also to add his own data following the same format.
