Objectives & Summary
The overarching goal of the ADVISOR project is to oversee the integration of the ASPECS tool into the ISEP effort, determining and curating the necessary optimizations to permit operational readiness, providing constructive technical reports to invest in transparency and clearness. Predictions of the ASPECS tool have been initially integrated into the SEP Probability Scoreboard and the SEP Intensity Scoreboard and ADVISOR builds upon this effort.
ASPECS stemmed from the collaboration of four European institutions and one SME. These include the National Observatory of Athens, Greece (Anastasios Anastasiadis, Athanasios Papaioannou, George Vasalos, Evangelos Paouris, Manolis Georgoulis), the University of Turku, Finland (Rami Vainio, Miikka Paassilta), the Universitat de Barcelona, Spain (Dr. Angels Aran), BIRA-IASB, Belgium (Mark Dierckxsens), and SPARC, Greece (Ingmar Sandberg, Sigiava Aminalragia-Giamini, Antonios Tsigkanos, Zafar Iqbal).
ASPECS was significantly updated within the ADVISOR project. These updates include code restructuring and Python implementation to enhance maintainability, the utilization of pipelines for more efficient data processing, and modularity improvements for better scalability. Furthermore, API enhancements have been introduced to streamline interactions, while validation capabilities have been upgraded to ensure reliability. The simplification of submodules also contributes to the overall efficiency and ease of use in the integration process. As a whole, ADVISOR delivers a robust, updated and efficient version of the ASPECS tool to date.
