Λεωνίδας was born in 1840 in Kωνσταντινούπολις, the son of Γεώργιος I. Zαρίφης but his mother is unknown.
He died in 1923 in Kηφισιά.
His wife was Eυφροσύνη (Φρόσω) Nικολοπούλου. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Γεώργιος Λ. (1880-1943).
