- Imaging spectroscopy in the study of the terrestrial environment (earth and planetary) with emphasis on:
i) Quantification of vegetation physical properties and surface processes. Combined use of spectral satellite and ground measurements.
Satellite sensors: CHRIS/PROBA (ESA) and Hyperion/EO1 (NASA).
ii) Chemical/mineral mapping, mineral exploration (earth and planetary). Satellite sensors: OMEGA/MEx (ESA).
-Radar SAR applications with emphasis on:
i) InSAR applications in mapping ground deformation due to geophysical activity
(volcanic, seismic, tectonic, landslides/subsidence). Satellite sensors: ERS2 (ESA), ASAR/ENVISAT (ESA), PALSAR/ALOS (JAXA), TerraSAR-X (DLR).
ii) Relations between salinity, radioactive 137Cs and ocean parameters in the marine environment. Satellite sensors: SMOS (ESA) and MODIS (NASA).
